Life of a poor tailor

It is in my neighboring area that there is a family they are all widow they have to live their life with two breadwinners inside.But despite that they are still survive ,there are two widow and one of the widow has a daughter and her daughter has a big role in the family her daughter working as a servant inone of the families in the neighborhood to keep the family standing.the other widow work as a tailor wich also a breadwinner in the family when I asked “how can you survive to live your life?”she said she has to save the money as much as she can so that they can buy food every single day,about their house condition its pretty bad condition beam in the middle of the house to prop up the ceiling,the neighbors know the condition so they are reported it to kelurahan to ask support and assistance to reconstruct the house,about how much money they can get each month they won’t tell it and it is ok,their daughter usually wash the dishes doing household work ,about the tailor we call her “bude” bude usually get people to fix people’s clothes in variant mode and also prices she get a lot of order only during idul fitri so everyday like this only few people wants to fix their clothes.to keep their life they also rely on her daughter that only work as a servant.I hope their house can be fixed by the kelurahan that their neighbors have veen reporting about their bad house condition.

Values are ideals that guide or qualify your personal conduct and interaction with others. They help you to distinguish what is right from what is wrong and inform you on how you can conduct your life in a meaningful way. Values are those things that are really important to us. The ideas and beliefs we hold as special (http://www.kidsinco.com/our-values/ ,  May 5th 2014). Values are very influental in our lives. When we interact with others ,it can determine what is right and wrong and help us to distinguish what is the good one and what is the bad one,as well as determining the quality of our own. And values have a place in every single individual.

Laura Schhelesinger states that values are principles and ideas that bring meaning to seemingly mundane experience of life. A meaningful life that ultimately brings happiness and pride requires you to respond to temptations as well as challenges with honor, dignity,and courage (http://www.kidsinco.com/our-values/ , May 5th 2014). Values lead us to a meaningfull life and happiness. As well as keeping us while responding to things. People who are adopting spiritual way will be finding broader meaning to their life and it can bring them to a simple style of life but rich in inner essence.

According to Ashok Gulla We all have values that determine our decisions and guide our lives (Gulla,2010,p.5). And he also stated that some of the true values of life are love,truth,honesty,responsibility, learning development, patience, suffering, integrity, ethics,   self esteem, contentment,spiritual development,faith,hope and friendship ( Gulla,2010, p.18 ). Values are the principles that we use to determine a good or bad thing. Shows what is right or wrong, and we need to try to imbibe these values in our life. It needs extra efforts to make necessary modifications in our attitude and personality to acquire these values ,it may not give immediate benefit from adopting these values, but they can bring much desired moderation and long lasting happiness.

Values are our fundamental beliefs. They are the principles we use to define that which is right, good and just. Values provide guidance as we determine the right versus the wrong, the good versus the bad. They are our standards. Consider the word “evaluate”. When we evaluate something we compare it to a standard. We determine whether it meets that standard or falls short, comes close or far exceeds. To evaluate is to determine the merit of a thing or an action as compared to a standard. Typical values include honesty, integrity, compassion, courage, honor, responsibility, patriotism, respect and fairness.

Values derived from a higher authority. That is a convenient way to differentiate them from what are often called utilitarian or business values, such as excellence, quality, safety, service, which define some elements of right and good in a business context.

The Description of Moral

            Moral values in the literary works sometimes are not directly be delivered . Human being has different characters to one another,some have good characters and some have bad characters. The point about moral  is not only something that we usually do but also our conscience about what we should not do in life.

The adjective “moral” seems to have two main definitions applicable to academic research :

1.   ”relating to human character or behaviour considered as good or bad ...(or) the distinction    beetwen right and wrong,or good and evil,in relation to the actions,desires,or character of responsible human beings”; and

2. ”good,virtuous;conforming to standards of morality” (“Moral,”Oxford English Dictionary,http://dictionary.oed.com (Hitlin,Vaisey,2010,p.5). Moral implies conformity to accepted notions of right and wrong or to establish sanctioned codes. The distinction in moral, human character as good or bad related to desire or actions of human beings. So the behaviour of human beings that considered as good or bad , right or wrong it depends on the man himself because they have their own belief. And everyone has responsible of what they are doing and what they have done.

According to Sweder (2003) “Moral” is thus used both to denote a domain where concepts like good and bad,right and wrong  are relevant,and to evaluate the status of a particular action of practice in that domain (Hitlin,Vaisey,2010,p.5). Moral is reflection of something good and bad, and right or wrong for every single one’s or group actions. For example , since some groups hold female genital mutilation to be an integral part of  “good life”  while others see it as a horrible violation of rights, one might be reasonably refer to it as a moral practice.  On the other hand, those who condemn the act claim that the practice is immoral because it violates standards of morality.

According to Bentham morality is an art to maximize happiness because by considering this matter it will be useful for our self and the other people (Hazlitt, 2003,p.109). Moral influence on our own happiness and others. Good attitudes and behaviour also help us to contribute to the happiness of other people with whom we come in contact everyday ,think of welfare of others than self indulgence ,focus on inner essence and make the atmosphere all around the neighborhood or society more joyful.

As stated by Longman Dictionary of American English moral relates to beliefs or ideas about what is right and wrong,and about how people should behave (2006,p.654). Oxford Advances Learner’s Dictionary defines that moral is concerned with principles of right and wrong behaviour (Hornby, 2010,p. 959). From the both definitions about moral as stated in dictionaries above, it has something to do with principles ,believe what we believe ,ideas that we accept as a concept of our lives or behaviour of human beings.
